Ghana's currency is the Cedi. Foreign currency can be freely exchanged at any Forex Bureau in the country.

Aside the Forex Bureaux, some commercial Banks also exchange foreign currency. Banks are normally open between 8:30am and 4:00pm. Most ATMs will also accept VISA cards and a few other card types.

All Banks and Forex Bureaux accept Traveller's Cheques although the rate of exchange may be slightly lower than for cash transactions.

The most widely accepted credit cards are Visa and MasterCard. These are accepted in major hotels, restaurants, banks, shops and businesses.
